365 Weird and Wonderful Science Experiments by Elizabeth Snoke Harris is true to its title. This book contains 365 awesome science experiments that children of all ages will enjoy trying out. There are experiments on how to make things, to test things, and how to do things. Each experiment in this book contains step-by-step instructions, a list of materials you will need, and an explanation as to why a reaction occurs. This book is extremely informative but in a fun, hands-on way. The only problem you will have while reading this book is deciding which experiment to do first.
I enjoyed looking through and reading the different experiments in this book. Everything is brightly colored with pictures for each experiment. The step-by-step instructions are simple and easy to follow. The best part is that an explanation is provided for each of the experiments in a way that is easy to understand. Another good thing about this book is that it is not limited to just those who are good at science. These simple and fun experiments will peak the interest of anyone who reads this book.
While I'm interested in all the experiments in this book, here are some of the ones I'm looking forward to trying out the most:
Bomb Your Bath - An eight step process on how to make your own bath bombs.
Cloud in a Jar - A simple three step experiment on how to make clouds in a jar.
Bottle Ecosystem - How to make your own ecosystem in a 2-liter soda bottle.
Dusting for Prints - Learn how and what to use to dust for prints.
These are only a few of the super fun and awesome experiments in this book. All of these experiments can be done with things found around your house. All of these experiments are also kid-friendly and require little to no supervision. This book allows every young scientist to learn the fundamentals of science, all while having fun. I recommend this book to any budding scientist and those with a curious mind.
